Winter in Spring + Food Cravings

Even though it's snowing outside on April 17th, I trust that change is coming! I know that Mother Nature is transforming things for us, we just can't see it yet! Well, just like the change in seasons isn't an overnight transformation, changing our relationship with food to a more positive one takes time too.
If you've been following food rules or dieting to guide your eating rather than your hunger, fullness and satisfaction, it will take time to get re-acquainted. Likely even more time than Winter transforming into Spring this year (I believe it's now clocked at an eternity - I joke).
But if you can find a moment, just a small space in time for new options to come forward in your mind, the old stuff that served a function for us once, but is now no longer valid, can slowly fade into the background making way for something fresh.
If right now you feel at the mercy of food cravings and you haven't yet made peace, try trusting that it will come with time if you can simply pause and ask yourself what you need right now. What's a good match for you right now? What kind of resources do you have to help you get what you need now? Even if you can't make a change yet, just thinking about what would help is a big step in the right direction towards mindful eating and mindful living.
You are exactly where you need to be. You have everything you need within. I didn't say it would be easy, but learning to live with an inner awareness of your needs will help you feel more connected and help you get what you need in time. The best advice I can give is to observe how things unfold with curiosity and kindness and less judgment. As Carl Jung famously said - "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
The little graphic above is a little sneak peek at the free presentation I am offering in Guelph, Ontario. If you're interested, leave me a comment because if I hear enough people are interested, I would love to run it on Facebook Live for free for all those who aren't near and available to come to Guelph! I invite you to leave a comment on a Mindful or Intuitive Eating topic you'd love to hear more about!
